School Closure & Remote Learning
As soon as we are aware or have had to make a decision to close, a PING will be sent to all parents. Details of school closures will also be published on the Kirklees website - see link below.
Remote Learning
If school needs to close for a length of time then remote learning will be set up for children to be able to access from home. Whitechapel Primary accesses Oak Academy Resources to support remote learning and teachers will explain via Dojo what the learning is for that day.
There may also be limited circumstances where a child is unable to attend school but is well enough to continue their education remotel. These circumstances would only involve a short-term absence and might include pupils:
- recovering from short- term infectious illnesses
- preparing for or recovering from some operations
- recovering from injuries where attendance might inhibit recovery
In these circumstances school will work with parents to agree the best ways to support the child with remote learning.
