School Council – for website
We have a very active School Council who act as the pupil voice for our children. The success of the School Council stems from the dedication and commitment of the elected members who work on behalf of their classes to make sure their voice is heard with regard to important decision making in school. New members are democratically elected annually through a voting process by the children in Years 1 to 6. Children who wish to stand as candidates talk to the class about their ‘manifesto. Their classmates cast their votes by ballot and the winning candidates are announced as School Councillor and their Deputy. They meet most weeks to discuss common school issues, plan charitable events and celebrations, represent Whitechapel in and out of school and complete pupil voice surveys with their classes which then feed back to the leadership team.
Our School Council gives all children the opportunity to make their voices heard and feel part of the whole school community.
